– My Conversation on WURD Radio: Navigating Toxic Relationships

– My Conversation on WURD Radio

I’m thrilled to share my recent appearance on WURD Radio’s Reality Check with the insightful Tonya Pendleton. During our conversation, we delved into the complexities of toxic relationship dynamics, particularly focusing on domestic violence and emotional abuse.

As the Founder of Epiphany Lane Counseling and CEO of On Epiphany Lane, LLC in Dallas, Texas, I bring my experience as a Nationally Certified Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), Prepare-Enrich Trainer and Facilitator and experience in domestic violence intervention and prevention to the forefront. Our discussion centered on identifying red flags in abusive behavior, understanding control mechanisms, and recognizing the vulnerabilities that can lead to victimization.

We explored the subtle signs of manipulation and coercive control, emphasizing the importance of awareness and education in preventing and addressing domestic abuse. It’s crucial to understand that toxic relationships often begin with seemingly minor infractions that escalate over time, making early detection and intervention vital.

Tonya’s platform provided an excellent opportunity to shed light on these issues, aiming to empower individuals with the knowledge to recognize and escape harmful situations. Our goal is to foster a community where open conversations about mental health and relationship dynamics are encouraged and supported.
